Comedian and author David Walliams dropped by longtime publisher.

Acclaimed writer for children and TV personality David Walliams has parted ways with his publisher HarperCollins UK, as confirmed by the firm.

A representative for the company said: "Upon deliberation, and following the appointment of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing any new titles by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the decision was made after an review of reports of conduct deemed unsuitable directed at women.

The publisher did not confirm the specific rationale behind the move, stating: "We do not comment on internal matters."

A Highly Successful Writing Journey

Walliams ranks among Britain's most prolific writers for young readers, with sales exceeding more than 60 million copies internationally in dozens of tongues.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

A number of his works, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into television films.

He has published in excess of 40 works combined, including a festive story titled *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins this past October.

Television and Literature

His initial claim to fame came on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE back in 2017 in recognition of his work for charity and the arts.

The publisher's decision comes after the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss last fall.
